Specifically designed for a single room application, the Flex Single Sided Fireplace Insert features one open side, enabling the flame to be viewed from the front. The bioethanol, true zero-clearance fireplace can be used to create a striking addition to a feature wall, integrated within cabinetry or a fireplace setting - whether in a residential dining room, indoor or outdoor living area, or commercial spaces.
The clean lines and 'all flame' configuration of the Flex 32SS means the entire viewing area is dedicated to the eye-catching flame, creating a harmonious blend of traditional style and contemporary design.
The XL500 burner, the 'baby' of the XL Series, delivers a stunning, long-lasting linear flame. It may be compact in size, but with a 5L capacity, this ethanol burner can heat up to 40m2.
Efficiency is a key feature of this burner, delivering up to 13 hours of heat generating flame off a single refill.

EcoSmart Fire’s ethanol fireplace burners and fireplace inserts, when paired with our e-NRG bioethanol fuel are clean burning with the only byproduct being heat, steam and carbon dioxide (the same stuff we exhale). Unlike gas fireplace inserts and wood burning fireplace inserts, EcoSmart Fire’s ethanol fireplaces do not produce messy pollutants like soot, smoke, and ash.
How much does it cost to maintain an ethanol fireplace?
EcoSmart Fire’s ethanol fireplaces require little maintenance. It is important to keep the lid closed when not in use to keep debris out of the ethanol burner that can cause corrosion and damages. The 304 stainless steel tank is built to last a lifetime if proper cleaning procedures are done when needed.
What is a bioethanol fireplace?
A Bioethanol fireplace is an open fireplace that is fueled by bioethanol. A real flame is produced by the lighting of bioethanol, with a by-product being heat in the process. There are key differences between gel fireplaces and ethanol fireplaces in terms of operation and performance. Gel fireplaces are operated by inserting and lighting tin cans filled with gel. The cans act as the burner mechanism. Gel fireplaces do not produce a long coherent flame as known from ethanol fireplaces and can be difficult to extinguish. EcoSmart Fire’s ethanol fireplaces use a clean burning liquid fuel made with fermented plants. The fuel is housed in a ethanol burner that allows for safe and easy operation. Ethanol fireplaces produce a beautiful, vibrant dancing flame. Gel fuel should never be used within an ethanol fireplace.
